Next Motochampion Rider Aaron Villasenor has a great start to the season so far…can’t wait to see what the rest of the season will be like…
2/21/10: The 2010 SCminiGP season began this weekend with Adams Motorsports Park hosting the opening event. Climbing back on his TZ Aaron wasted no time in announcing his presence by finishing 1st in both of his heat races. From pole position Aaron stayed focused and raced exceptionally well, winning both the Pro GP and Pro Extreme final events. Aaron’s development will be in high-gear this year as he races the Moriwaki-250 in WERA and the TZ-150 in SCminiGP.

1/31/10: Aaron continued his development by racing his second W.E.R.A. event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. On only his second race on the new Moriwaki 250 Aaron put himself on the podium in both races, scoring a 2nd place in the Clubman Expert race and taking 3rd in D-Superbike Expert. The Las Vegas track presented Aaron with several long straightaways, and his Moriwaki-250 was simply unable to keep pace with the faster 450’s. Despite the disadvantage, Aaron did an unbelievable job staying with the leaders by being faster in the turns. It was another great week of development for this 14-year-old speedster.

1/10/10: This past weekend in Fontana at California Speedway was a huge success for Aaron. He had his first ever race on a full size AMA track on his Moriwaki 250. Sat practice went well and Sunday was even better. Aaron took first place in the Clubman Expert race and second place in the D-Superbike Expert race. The next race is at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Jan 31st.

Thanks to mom for the great reveiw !

Marcus Beedle with CMRA is a force to be reckoned with…

Marcus Beedle decided that he would eventually continue the family tradition of motorcycle road racing after seeing his first World Superbike race at Assen, Holland from the paddock and garage area. In 2006, Marcus tried a few races in the CMRA just to see if he would like racing. By 2008 Marcus was under the mentorship of Bryan West.

Marcus won his first race in Formula 5 (RS65), 2ndin Clubman (RS85) and 3rd in 125gp. 2009 started off on a bad note when he was training on his KX85 prior to the start of the CMRA 2009 season. He was thrown off at high speed and broke his left collarbone.

By May 2009 he was ready to go. He had not raced since October 2008 but he picked right up where he left off. In the CMRA Mini Endurance he set the fastest lap out of 48 teams and dominated his sprint races. Team Gleam (Marcus Beedle/Conner Blevins/Bryan West) had there first CMRA Mini Endurance overall win at Hallett August 2009.

At Texas World Speedway Feb 2010, Marcus had a convincing win in Formula 5. He then teamed up with Conner Blevins in CMRA Mini Endurance race. Even though they started on the 7th row, Team Gleam ended up in 3rdoverall. Marcus also finished strongly in Clubman with a 2nd place and 3rd in Heavyweight Twins on his RS125. Marcus has a dream of racing in MotoGP. His commitment and desire to win will continue to be evident in his performance. Make sure to follow his results at www.cmraracing.com and checkout the newsletter.Marcus is sponsored by Bridgestone, South Central Race Center, VP Race Fuels, Red Rock Fuels, Silkolene, EBC and his parents

FEBRUARY 19-21 TEXAS WORLD SPEEDWAY

Austin looked very well in practice Friday and we were pleased with his times. Race one on Saturday was Formula 4 on the RS150 and he got a good start. After two laps Austin and Jeff Mendelson had a large gap on the rest of the field and were swapping the lead back and forth and drafting each other down the front straight. I heard the engine sputter on lap four on the straight and Austin went out in turn 9 with a mechanical. Turned out to be a broken intake valve spring. He’ll really have to put his head down to catch up.
Race two was on the Aprilia built by Rheen Racing’s Steve Gaspard. Austin got an excellent start again and led for a lap before being passed on the front straight. This was the first race for the custom bike so the gearing was a toss up which we lost. He ended up third but we expect to do much better next race now that we have a baseline for gearing.
Race three was the E Superstock race on the Ninja 250 . This would be the first sprint for him on the Ninja. He got another decent start and was about forth in turn one. Coming down the front straight it was a very close race for about six bikes. Austin, Joey Howells, Jeff Hughes, and Brandon Altmeyer drafted each other down the front straight the entire race while the leader Ryan Johnson checked out on the rest of the field. I noticed Austin having shifting problems which later turned out to be a problem with the shift lever. At the end of five laps Austin finished a close third.
After the sprints Austin and Joey would ride the Ninja for the Redline Roadracing team owned by Aaron and Bobbie Gore. After two hours of racing and one pit stop for fuel and a rider change the boys finished 7th in Formula 4 endurance. Lots of racing left in the endurance series where consistency is key to winning championships! Overall a good weekend.

Finalized at a meeting that took place this weekend at Texas World Speedway, Moto GP Tech 3 Yamaha rider Colin Edwards is now a partner and stake holder of Next Moto Champion. “It’s important to get these kids the recognition they deserve, they are the future of our sport and we need more Americans racing MotoGP.” said Edwards.

The President of Next Moto Champion, Jon Boucher made this statement “Colin Edwards and Colin Edwards Sr. have been big supporters of Next Moto Champion and youth road racing for a long time now. We are looking forward to Colin’s input and help with everything we do. Colin is a guy who’s made it to the level that all youth road racers dream of, he’s a family man and he truly cares about the future of this sport. I want to let Colin and Colin Sr know how much all of us at Next Moto Champion appreciate them. Youth Road Racing is more popular than it’s ever been and with Colin Edwards on our team it’s only going to get better.”
